New Beginnings

January is always full of new beginnings, isn’t it? Did you make New Year Resolutions? Have you managed to keep any of them?!

Many of us use the start of a new year to think about new beginnings. We take stock, re-evaluate life and make decisions about the things that really matter to us. Getting those thoughts from the thinking place to the place where we actually act on them is sometimes where we come a little unstuck! Sometimes though, it’s hard to see the wood for the trees. Often our own lives and situations look less clear to us than to others. It’s often easier to help someone else sort out their life than it is to identify what needs attention in our own. Folks who we trust and who love us are invaluable in our reflection process. Sometimes, a fresh pair of eyes on a situation can create lightbulb moments for us.

Organisations are not much different to individuals in this respect. We all benefit from stopping, reflecting, taking stock and making some decisions about what really matters to us. Healing for the Heart as an organisation is taking some time at the start of 2018 to reflect on where we are and where we are going. We’re going to be inviting staff, volunteers, past and present service users and anyone else who is interested to contribute to the conversation. There will be lots of ways to do that. You can email us your thoughts using info@healingfortheheart.co.uk, talk to us if you happen to be nearby, or you can message us through our Facebook page. We are planning to host an evening for anyone interested in helping us to think about taking Healing for the Heart into the next season – keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for details.

New beginnings bring both invitation and challenge. What does that look like for you today?
